And Ken Griffin is one of the biggest Republican donors in the state, along with being a staunch supporter of the Mayor. So what does that tell you about Republicans and Democrats? If anything, it's that neither one of them give a shit about you. There will be no Republicans running for Mayor for the foreseeable future, so you are going to have to choose a Democrat who will do you the least amount of harm. Vallas or McCarthy fit that bill. Anything else is a vote for Rahm.

You don't have to like the "clientele" that you deal with, but there is absolutely no need to ridicule people for no good reason. Especially youngsters.
There's a time and place for almost everything, but when shit like this takes place you really can't honestly still wonder why some people hate the police.
Again... IF it actually happened. And IF it did, maybe there's a context to it which can be explained. Otherwise, it's just another self-inflicted black eye to our profession.

The Chicago City Counsel, in typical Democrat fashion because one felon wore body armor while committing a crime (the murder of Commander Paul Bauer) want to outlaw the wearing of civilians wearing body armor. The exceptions would be journalists and actors. What about convenience store clerks, cab drivers and many others I could name. Did you saw the made in Chicago movie ABOVE THE LAW with Pam Greer. In it she was shot but saved by body armor. That vest was mine and I later gave it to a cab driver friend of mine who later told me a would-be robber tried to stab him in the chest with a screw driver but he was saved by that vest.
But those Democrats, just like they are with guns; one persons commits a crime with something and they want to take it away from everyone else.
BTW, isn't there already a law on the books outlawing the wearing of body armor while committing a crime.

To the whiners who want better equipment, take care of what you have. Start 1st with washing and fueling the cars. SGTS.need to inspect the cars at the beginning and end of watch. I can guaranty the cars would be in better shape. Now dont pass judgement on me so fast, but it would ensure coppers grow up and take responsibility for the equipment. All you young buck Supervisors need to make sure you have something inside your undies inside those sacks. A retired Sergeant that saw and heard every excuse for damage to radios and cars.

Little things like this culminate in and combine with other slights - real or perceived - resulting in coppers getting challenged, fought with, battered, shot at... hell, their heads smashed off concrete surfaces... way more often these days than anytime in the past.
