Dodging Responsibility

  • The long-awaited third-leg of Chicago’s police accountability overhaul will finally be delivered Monday, but in a way that will trigger even more controversy.
Fran might want to go to UrbanDictionary.com and look up the definition of a "third leg." Then again, maybe she did and we aren't giving her enough credit for turning a phrase so to speak, but we doubt it.

In any event, the aldercreatures have come up with a truly asinine idea:
  • Ald. Roderick Sawyer (6th), chairman of the Chicago City Council’s Black Caucus, and Ald. Harry Osterman (48th) will join forces in proposing an elected district council that would play a role in an entirely new system for investigating police wrongdoing, selecting a permanent chief of the Civilian Office of Police Accountability, and hiring and firing Chicago’s police superintendent.

The ordinance Sawyer and Osterman plan to outline for their colleagues during a series of briefings Monday is the product of two years worth of work by the Grassroots Alliance for Police Accountability (GAPA).

After consulting national experts and holding well over 100 meetings, the coalition of community organizations drafted an ordinance that, Sawyer said, calls for carving the city into 22 districts and electing one representative from each district.
Rahm has already signaled his displeasure and it probably won't see a vote. But don't we already have an elected board that is supposed to assist in selecting a chief of COPA and has all sorts of input into the hiring of a Superintendent?
  • Oh yeah, the City fucking Council
Instead of adding an additional lawyer of government and bureaucracy, how about doing your fucking jobs and perhaps standing up for your constituency rather than bending over and presenting your asses to the mayor every time he walks into the room?

The only thing we could possibly acknowledge as a reasonably good idea would be the 22 districts and have the number of aldercreatures reduced from 50 to those 22. It would finally realize our position that (A) Chicago has way too many politicians for the population and (B) redrawing the police districts so we can maybe see a beat car once in a while.

I am all for this committee being able to fire the superintendent 👍👍👍👍 if he can fire a cop, well someone should be able to fire him too-- besides Rihm. Maybe make it to we're Rahm can not fire that person too. Because who is willing to fire someone, knowing your job is on the line too

If the aldermen were remotely concerned about accountability, transparency and integrity in city government, why did the eliminate the City Council's Inspector General? Shame on us for acting like sheep as they did this. Where is the city IG, Ferguson? Why isn't he speaking out on this issue? He is worthless.

Let them have it as it will only diminish Rahm’s power even more.
Then, when crime goes up even further because of this second (to COPA) kangaroo court, Emanuel will be the scourge of law-abiding citizens throughout this city.

Read this man’s take on Rahm during Bauer funeral. He has that little bitch down to a T.

Don't we already have an elected civilian oversight board of the police department? A board which controls its budget and oversees its hiring and promotion practices? It's the City Council, when they're not busy overlooking corruption from Shortshanks family and the nine and a half digit midget.

This city needs to be carpet-bombed and started over. The vile democratic roaches are a plague to society. I’m actually all for this. I mean, why not? Our society is already in chaos and only slipping further into insanity and corruption. So, what’s you’re endgoal, SJWs? Consider this, you win your big war against the police. Police are, in effect, completely dissolved, powerless, fetal and unable to organize any semblance of leadership free of political control. You won. What next?

Motherfuckers are creating their own powderkeg and third-world shithole and don’t even realize it. As long as I retire, I’ll be at a distance, laughing at what Shitcongo has become.

I Googled this 'Grassroots Alliance for Police Accountability (GAPA)' group, then went to their website and downloaded and read their Ten Page Report on the meetings they had with the various 'communities', and what the 'communities' want from the police.

And all I can say is... Holy F--k! ... these people are certified f--king imbeciles.

In short, they don't want Police, they want goddamn Social Workers who occasionally arrest someone. But don't do any cursing or 'treat anyone mean' (whatever the fuck that's supposed to mean) while you're doing it. They want the police to kiss their asses.

Hell, you might as well put away your Gun(s), take off the Star, and Patrol in Ice Cream Trucks handing out Ice Cream and Candy to anyone you stop or talk to.

The more insane ideas from these morons in 'the communities' I'll leave for you guys and gals to read for yourselves in the report, I don't want to spoil your fun.

So here ya go: GAPA Report Ten pages, Adobe PDF

Just let them have their little committee to look into Police wrongdoings. And the Police can conduct their own investigations into city wrongdoings.
Yeah, that sounds fair.

I want to see a boss who’s not afraid to tell politicians and members of the media to go get fucked. A true policeman who backs his officers and a concerned member of this decaying city. Glenn Evans should take the reigns and drain the swamp.

Off Topic: What is going on in Mass Transit. Same Officer blows hot in a two month time frame. Where is the Sgt and LT, what about accountability. Commander Sam has to make some not so tough decisions, dump all three of them. The Sgt and PO should be dumped from Unit. Lt maybe too, the Dept. keeps preaching accountability, well actions are greater then words, maybe IG or DOJ should look into this matter.

Ok, tell Ed Burke hi. He is the sole remaining member of the Vrdolyak 29 from Harold Washington's administration. Thirty years later he's gotta be the chairman by now. In your defense I guess it wasn't a "White Caucus" because only 28 of those guys were white. They did have a Hispanic guy. Hey 3% diversity is progress! Anyway enjoy your caucus meeting or whatever.

That sounds great till you get a likeable or more tolerable boss who gets tossed over the next scandal that wasn't his fault anyway. Then you get a boss that they like...I'm sure that would be in your best interests right?

They want counselors and social workers to accompany police to domestics or calls involving mentals. Think about how those logistics might play out, especially since they won't be able to legally have bulletproof vests soon.

“...the coalition of community organizations...”
Another coalition and an entitlement budget too.
Oh and it’s about jobs. Mmmmm-hmmmm.
Grassroots my ass.
These are stubborn, invasive and noxious weeds.

What do we pay part time AlderThieves again and how much is that annual taxpayer funded stipend?

Obviously they’re preparing a nuclear option should cracka-assed crackas Gmac (or Vallas) gets elected as next Mayor.
I think neither would have kept an incompetent like Swolthead Special stringing along, even just as a motormouth.
The GMac or Vallas are likely to choose a Real Tough Cookie to start a combat crime campaign- not another an overpaid 4x Merit Hack Information Minister.

Community first:
Understand that ain’t nobody going like a so and so because they ain’t representative of the community.
So he got t’go.
Rahm doesn’t like the idea, but sure as shit, he’s lining up his Ace-in-the-Hole and Jugghead is on his final approach and starting his descent.

So the folks community organizations (out numbering Wards and Districts) want Anti-Police governors for 22 “boroughs”.
Talk about a clusterfluck battle of who’s-in-charge block club captains.
How about 22 Aldermanic Wards first?
Something the 48 community AlderThieves don’t want to hear.

So much polices corruptifying and doing the community wrong that a busy corrupt AlderThief ain’t got time to address the crime in their own Wards.
The Elected need to be tested on a monthly basis for mental fitness and drug abuse...before they get paid.

Stay Fetal.
