Killer Sentenced

  • A man convicted of killing an off-duty Chicago police officer in a botched scheme to steal his guns was sentenced to 76 years in prison Wednesday.

Cook County Judge Lawrence Flood sentenced Bernard Williams, 26, to 55 years for first-degree murder and 21 years for armed robbery, said Tandra Simonton, a spokeswoman for the Cook County state’s attorney’s office. The sentences will run consecutively.

A jury deliberated for less than 3½ hours before convicting Williams in April 2017.
RIP Officer Blake.

The judge, Larry Flood, was former CPD and a great detective out of the Old Area 6.
While he is governed by jurisprudence in his decisions and sentencing, he has shown to always consider justice and solidarity to his background as well.

This is Crook County, Some Liberal Progressive Democrat Lawyers will let him sit for 10 years by them witnesses will have died or be able (for cash) to change their mind about what they said in court or they remembered they were forced by the evil police. Then Some connected Democrat judge will release him. These scumbag lawyers will sue for 10 million dollars. The Democrat Mayor will then agree with the Democrat Corporation Counsel not to fight the ruling and charge the Democrat voting tax payers 3 million for the murderer, three million for the Law firm and one million for donations to the DNC, Welcome to Chicago

Found guilty of murder and armed robbery? The sentence should be a bullet between the eyes. Good bye! Problem solved and not very expensive for tax payers.

I've never heard of a consecutive sentence being given - they all seem to be concurrent. Does that mean they thought this was actually serious?

So he is going to actually serve about 14 years then, eh?

And during that time, every need he has will be provided to him - housing, food, medical care, dental care, books, cable television, schooling, college degrees, various job training, mental health counseling, group therapy and maybe even a video interview or two.

This is different than the "outside" how? Not much in this dude's life is going to change, besides his range and what he has access to steal and who he has access to rob.

People like this are supposed to be given the dirt nap they earned. But then, that makes too much sense!

Not true. There usually is a way the judge can order that the defendant has to serve 85% of the time. Forgot what they call it. Good judges usually stipulate this when sentencing defendants involving shooting or murders of police officers

Let’s be fair and not rush to judgement on the judge and start calling him a pos. In Illinois there is a law called “Truth in Sentencing” and it states a defendant who murders a police officer will serve 100% of his time. It also includes in the law a person convicted of attempted first degree murder( shooting a police officer will serve 85% of the sentence.

This guy will be 100 before he gets out. Link to the law is below. Read it

Read the Truth in sentencing law. Look it up. 1st degree murder of a P.O. 100%. Attempted murder of a police officer. 85%
