Good Job

  • An Englewood man fatally shot a man driving on a Dan Ryan Expressway ramp before making off with $600 cash, but was caught nearby by police, including an off-duty officer who saw part of the robbery in his rearview mirror, according to police reports.

Jeremiah Holt, 20, of the 7300 block of South Aberdeen Street, was ordered held without bail Saturday in the shooting death just after 5 p.m. Wednesday of Jeremy Scullark, 28, on the northbound Chinatown exit ramp from the Dan Ryan Expressway. Scullark’s family on Friday held a vigil at the site of the shooting and said he was an entrepreneur.
"entrepreneur"? Five bucks says no one in the family can even spell "entrepreneur." Or define it.
  • The off-duty officer, who was stopped in traffic on the same exit ramp farther north, heard about seven gunshots, looked in his rearview mirror and saw Scullark fall to the ground, as the 19-year-old ran south on the ramp, according to the reports. Several other people saw Holt fire the shots, both into the car and after Scullark got out.

The officer saw Holt, who had a gun in his hand, “quickly rummage through the driver’s seat area” of the Mercedes, then saw him run west toward Wentworth Avenue, according to a police report. The officer drove after Holt, calling 911 as he drove and requesting backup.
Good heads-up work by the off-duty and responding units from CPD and ISP. Word is it was a planned robbery, with the shooter stalking the deceased for a bit before making his move. It was just his bad luck the off-duty was nearby. Very good job.

Well the shooter had a sick mother who needed medicine, he had to get the money some way. That must have been what it was all about.

Well, the city has a lot of assets it's going to need to sell. And those property taxes are just going to have to be hiked up again. It's funny how these doom and gloom stories always start popping up around contract time.

Will both Eddie and Leo take credit for the Cleared-Closed, Arrest and Prosecution??

Since CPD is so quick to punt all shootings on the expressways over to the ISP, it would only seem fair they also allow ISP to take credit for the clearance. I doubt it, though.

Even the doctors in the crime capital of the United States of America can I take all the carnage anymore in the killing fields of Chicago;

Inundated with gunshot victims, Chicago doctors and nurses face 'compassion fatigue'
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-hospitals-compassion-fatigue-gun-violence-met-20170421-story.html

Excerpt:
The Northwestern Memorial Hospital's trauma bay was packed, and trauma surgeon Mamta Swaroop desperately needed a private room with a door.

She couldn't find one. So she resorted to a room enclosed only by a curtain and brought in the mother of a young man who'd been rushed in earlier. Patients chatted from the curtain's other side. Swaroop knew this wasn't the ideal way to deliver the news, but in a hospital trying to weather the flood of gunshot victims being wheeled in, there weren't other options.

Delicately, with the heaviness of someone who's had dozens of these conversations, Swaroop told the mother her son was dead. What followed, she said, was a jolting scream. The kind that pierces your bones and never leaves you.

"She fell onto my chest and just kept shrieking and crying. Crying and shrieking," Swaroop said. "I walked out and looked around. There were so many patients and nurses who had their head down and were wiping their tears. And you could just hear her shrieks, still, down the entire hallway."

The past 14 months have been the most violent in at least two decades. More than 4,300 people were shot in Chicago in 2016 and more than 760 were killed, according to data collected by the Tribune. So far this year, at least 915 people have been shot — with the homicide total reaching 166 through mid-April, according to the data.

Nurses and physicians in Chicago's trauma units say they feel these shootings in their souls. Day after day, they work 12-hour shifts without enough resources to handle the shooting victims. When their shifts end, it isn't the body disfigurement or the gore that haunts them when they get home. It's witnessing despair. A child who suffers a life-altering head injury. A mother who loses her first-born son.

physicians and nurses interviewed by the Tribune say burnout and traumatic stress are tough to talk about, not only in the workplace but at home with family members. When caretakers go home at the end of their shifts, instead of telling their partners about their experiences, they keep it in. Their stories might be offensive to loved ones, they say, or they might be asked detailed questions they don't want to answer.

The REAL good job was whoever in his family scrubbed his Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/jeremy.scullark) and Twitter (@JayScully88) accounts before anyone got a hold of the usual photos pointing guns, fanning hundreds, etc.

The tribune ran this article yesterday and did not have an open comment section. If a cop had 'YELLED' at some citizen, there would have been hell to pay and the comment section would have been vilifying the copper to no end. Run a story about a hero cop and make sure there is no comment section open. Way to go Fibune!

Oh do tell?

Well damn...
THAT busts a hole in the bottom of the
"Entrepreneur" narrative.

Doesn't it?

As soon as "da fambly" started off with
that line, us hard bitten (and hard biting)
professional skeptics, (bka "the deplorables")
figured that the entrepreneur label was
nothing but donkey-dung from the get-go.

And if such is the case, the victim very
likely had past "business" dealings with
the attacker.

...It's a small world in Chicago's
criminal violence.

Best way to get involved OD, call it in.
Good stuff between those ears.

Breakdown:
-$616, is about a whole months worth of SSI govmint entitlement payment.
-Ain't nobody in Englewoods has that kind of walking around folding money towards the end of the month.
-Dead guy had a Mercedes and was a long way from home.
-Shooter on Cook Co home monitoring for UUW & PSMV
-10 shots for a stick up?
-What about that ride-a-long friend?
-Was there another walking gun missing from the scene?
-How many CTA RedLine stops did they pass up before Chinatown?
Momma didn't like the "millions of questions" the police had.

Just a typical day in Sannctuary Chicago and its E-Z on Street Thugs Justice System.

In fairness, that Rahm'ofied-Murder'fied should be on Hey Jackass.
ISP highway patrol should be limited to dealing with highway traffic related matters and assisting small town agencies.
There's no reason to spare Rahm & Special Ed a murder statistic.

All we are is a paycheck.. The decedents family would have sued that odpo in a second if he (the decedent) was harassed or shot by the police. Used to love coming to work and working to give victims of violence some form of justice. After seeing my brothers in blue get killed and their lives were worth a mere fraction of what a gang bangers family receives after a police involved shooting I finally woke up.
. Now I realize all I am is a paycheck to those I sought to serve. My compassion and drive are gone. Just trying to survive this career I chose without getting killed, maimed, sued or imprisoned. Nice job by odpo. Curious as to how many years he has served this city. Wonder how long he will risk it all to just do his job.

4/24/2017 05:58:00 AM

The victim was driving a Mercedes and he had cash on him, yet he was not formally employed. Also, he resided in a tough part of town not known for an abundance of non-crime related entrepreneurs. Claiming he was an entrepreneur was the family's way of trying to protect themselves and sanitize the victim's reputation.

Furthermore, the family scrubbed his Facebook and Twitter accounts. If there was nothing to hide there would be no reason to have done so. If he was involved in legitimate business ventures, those accounts would have assisted the family with keeping the legitimate business ventures alive.

No, snowflake, sorry to burst your bubble, but the victim was not a legitimate entrepreneur.

The dead guy's mother was always a scammer and shitbird. Convicted along with her dopedealing BD shitbird boyfriend, Robert Brunt of orchestrating a fairly extensive mortgage fraud operation on the south side.
They even named their phony corporation B ig D og (B.D. for Black Disciples) and lived in lakefront subsidized housing in 001 while they ran the scam.
So this dead guy was raised by turds to be a turd. No great loss for the piece of garbage and some karma for his trash mother.
Taking money hand over fist.
Google "Tracey Scullark & Robert Brunt". Disgusting people.
