- Crime has taken over America’s inner-city communities. With sky-high murder rates and racial tensions worse than at any time in recent memory, many are beginning to wonder what can be done to make our communities safe again.
Black Lives matter has an answer. They want to take police out of the communities altogether.
It would certainly put an end to the officer-involved shootings that have enraged the black community. Without police officers, criminals would be free to shoot and kill whoever they want — and Black Lives Matter never seems to mind when a young black man is shot and killed by one of their own
And the Department could redirect those resources. Sounds like a win for everyone - under-served communities get more police, less payouts due to less confrontations so taxpayers win, less wear and tear on equipment since there will be less chases, funeral directors will experience a giant upswing in business....oh wait.

That is exactly what should be done. Turn large areas into no go zones for police. It is done in Europe and many countries, BLM and the New Black Panthers can enforce community norms and decorum, as well as protect the innocent. Just make sure these NGZs pay their taxes.

Since Trump plans to build a wall south by the boarder, maybe hevcan pay to annex the violent south and west sides too. No more police needed let police themselves. Move the few decent hard working families out and leave everyone else to their own devices

Yeah, the deal to exit has to come with the caveat that exit means no reentry for 9-1-1 calls. Choices have consequences and there is value in teaching that lesson. I Caution you though, to the backlash that will come if 'lighter complexion" people are given thrice as many citations and a tripling of arrests in the newly more heavily patrolled portions of the city. The ACLU is not going to get off your nuts just because you pull out of certain areas. They will just seek lighter complexion plaintiffs.

Yes, amazing as it is, progressives are also calling for less police in minority neighborhoods. I know some of these progressives, black and white. They blame the crime rate in black areas on the police, on what these progressives call " hyper-policing" and " over-policing". You will often hear Preckwinkle say the same things; police are arresting blacks and browns for too many offenses and creating a criminal class which leads to more violence. No mention from these progressives of personal responsibility, bad behavior, anti-social activities. Yes, the police are the problem. You can't fix stupid. Eight years of Obama has caused this and it will take a generation to turn it around. In the meantime the black body count climbs.And, yes, so does the body count of the innocents.
