Winter Parking (UPDATE)
Despite the 50 degree weather....
Despite the lack of snow.....
Despite the lack of anything resembling winter, Winter Parking Regulations are in effect tonight!
That means that it's time to set the over/under for vehicles towed tonight. In years past, it's been right around 100 to 120 cars, depending on how much money Chicago needs.
We'll guess at 111 cars.
UPDATE: Unconfirmed report on WBBM NewsRadio 780 - 170 cars towed overnight. The tow companies get $48 per car towed, so you know they had a bit of an incentive to clear the streets.

Ok this is well published and has been going on for how long already every year. So if you are too stupid to read the giant sigh on the pole next to your car maybe you shouldn't be driving anyway.

Always been a scam
I used to take Ashland from 4400 North to the Ike every day and nobody was towed after it snowed. Some vehicles would sit for days, unmoved, covered in snow, plowed in. But hey,the city and the media were out in force on 12/1 to tow. More BS from this corrupt city
I swear I was just taught in some Procedural Justice course, that giving people a pass, under understandable conditions, was preferred.

Think of the crazy insane written use of force bullshit, they are telling you yelling at you to "do nothing" right their in that order, so why defy the stupid that run cpd? Don't know if anyone remembers 1967. It was warm and there were tornado watches, then bam! Snow. It was considered the worst snow storm in the history of the US, not because of the amount of snow, but because it literally shut down the city. Dog sled was the only way to get around. Then being the city that doesn't work, and not having learned our lesson, we got caught again in 1979. I know we do a better job of weather forecasting now, but you just never know. Even Tommy Skilling has been known to be wrong once in a while. And, it seems no one pays much attention to that 2inch snow ban once the snow has stopped, which is when they are trying to plow the streets. Having lived though 1969 and 1979, i don't have a problem with the winter snow parking band. It is not like it is something new the city springs on people every year. the city has been doing it for over 30 years,

Hold your horses, don't tally the figures until Cholly Williams' misaligned DS&S can actually account for all of the tows and the locations vehicles were taken. Revenues collected will not even cover the overtime and increased manpower that was required to show how successful and effective Cholly's Program was. Next Nov. 30 smart folks should dump their abandoned cars along snow routes.
But before claiming a snow tow bonanza, expect Jill Stein to demand a recount after the first actual snowfall, she's raising funds now.
What would be most apropos is where the first Snow Tow related shooting/shot fired will occur, if it had not already happened.

If the city were truly interested in helping traffic flow in bade weather, they would get rid if those expensive, stupid flower boxes that Daley built on the median strips of main streets.
Tow more cars. another way to screw the taxpayers. tow vehicles even when there is no chance of snow. Its a great way for the city to get more money.
