A lot of Texas coppers think they can shoot. Off duty they are on the range practicing, or entered in some shooting competition somewhere. Fact of the matter, there are a whole bunch of Texans that spend time on ranges, and are really good at it. It is a popular state sport.
Damn the recruits getting on the job, and I think to myself I have 10 years on the job..
Give me one of those Star Wars guns.

San Antonio PD IS hiring, too. Great city, albeit the pizza needs work but on the bright side you'll never shovel snow again... No 'Paddy O'Furniture' blocking your parking space and no Winter Parking Restrictions.
If you're a military reservist there are multiple units to transfer to here. This area is pro-military and pro-police.

I also remember public service commercials made for the CPD in the late 60's or 70's. Both were in black and white and one showed a young cop walking with a little boy down a residential holding his hand. They keep talking and mom comes out of the white picket fence very glad to see them.
The other showed a dark, rained slicked alley with a lone cop walking down it. The narrator said, "You wouldn't walk down that alley for a million bucks. A cop does it for a lot less." Years later I had many such moments.

Satire and parody are protected exemptions from the copyright laws, so long as permission is obtained and/or acknowledgement of the copyright is observed.
In any event, over the years, quite a few fan films have been made and distributed with Lucas's blessing. "Hardware Wars" was made in the late 70's and ran as a filler segment on HBO. "TROOPS" is a mash-up of the search for R2 and C-3PO with an episode of "COPS" - Bad Boys theme and all. LFL loved it, and so did the producers of COPS, even going so far as to include "TROOPS" as a bonus feature on the 20th Anniversary box set. The "Star Wars Gangsta Rap" has been a mainstay on youtube for years, and they doubled down on the parody by making a Special Edition with improved graphics and animation. The first 60 seconds still cracks me up and I HATE rap.
