RIP Mr. Dennis

  • The son of a Chicago police officer killed by gunfire last week was laid to rest on the South Side.

Friends and family, Chicago police officers and Mayor Rahm Emanuel were all among those remembering Arshell Dennis III.

He was killed while in town to visit his ailing mother before returning to college in New York.

A $13,000 reward is now being offered for information leading to his killer.
RIP

No, really, so profoundly sorry for the family and their terrible loss. Prayers and blessings from the heart.

Just pointing out The Lethal Pattern that lays so many aspiring young people down.

If we can get a handle on that, there may be some sort of future for us all.

God bless.

"He was killed while in town to visit his ailing mother before returning to college in New York."

Dear God. So sorry, meant no disrespect -- but parts of this city have become so dangerous that they are impassable to normal people, trying to get ahead.

May the Lord hold you all in the palm of his hand and help you over this time.

I know -- but don't ever lose faith in the good side.

May GOD in his infinite mercy send forth his
healing Holy Spirit to comfort, heal and strengthen
the Dennis Family.

May he look kindly and mercifully upon
The Police Family that not only felt
the impact of this act of utter savagery,
but also have to bear witness to similar
such acts over the span of years.

...Only to have a vile and spiteful manling
who has vowed to "Stick it in the Cops ear"
dare to show his face at this young man's
funeral and dare to pretend to show care
and concern.

The vile and spiteful manling bears sole
responsibility for creating such a toxic
public safety crisis as to enable such an
environment where no one is safe anywhere
in this town because he thought declaring
war on The Police was such a politically
astute and savvy thing to do in order for
HIM to achieve whatever goals he thought
would advance HIM and his brand.

God knows you and will remember and repay
you for your evil stewardship of this
city and your maltreatment of those tasked
with enforcing the law and keeping the peace.

...However imperfectly they do it.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Knowing what you know and seeing what you've probably seen happen to others certainly makes this the more difficult for you. I wish there was a way to ease your pain.

&&&&&

Not to sound cold but the Fop is flipping the bill right now for dozens of coppers for legal representation. Remember, Baltimores Fop ran out of money forcing the members to voluntarily double their union dues to represent the officers. That was only for 6 officers, we have a ton who have been stripped and several who have been charged. They need all the money they can get...

I'm all for donating money to the family if they need it, but let's think about this reward idea for a minute before we suggest we all throw money toward it or the FOP throws in money. Anyone with information on this who hasn't already come forward is a coward and a piece of shit. Now we want to pay them $5000 or more to give up that information? Could it get results? Sure. Does this person deserve to be rewarded for withholding information until the dollar amount was high enough to compel them to come forward? Absolutely not. This family lost a child to senseless violence. Nothing will bring him back. I understand the need for closure and I believe that the person or persons responsible should be brought to justice. I just don't think giving money to pieces of shit is the right solution. Is there a gofundme or anything like that set up for the family yet? Someone share it here if there is.
