Feel Safe Up North?

Don't - especially after the sun goes down:

Sorry about the blurry pic, but that's the other night in 016 - one, two, three....seven?

Five primary beat cars - unmanned. Two sector sergeants - unmanned.

And that's only half the screen. There's more if you scroll down, though our helpful scribe didn't include the rest of the ongoing disaster.

Anyone think the citizens up north are happy about this?

Anyone think the aldercreatures should be getting a few thousand phone calls tomorrow?

Anyone wonder why there aren't any openings up north so that midnights can be properly....and safely....manned?

Locked and loaded since I can't depend on the cops, the city, the county or State of Illinois to protect me and my family. I suggest others and civilians do the same. For the cops who work outside of 016 make sure your spouse knows how to handle a firearm. For those civilians I suggest you and your spouse take a firearms course, buy yourself a firearm, and by all mean get your CCW; for the cops will not be there in time to protect you and your family. We pay the taxes while others get the protection because they don't have a moral compass, so we are penalized.

I think maybe the people in 016 don't pay enough taxes .
If you drive through the ghetto you will notice the newest play lots , schools and well paved streets . I think that the people of 016 should pay what they pay .

Hmmm.... in 1611, for the last month there has been an empty CPD vehicle parked at the corner. First was an SUV now a sedan, parked there most days and gone once in a while. Is this our taxes in action? Is this really the extent of policing in my neighborhood? If so I'm scared, but then I am just an old lady who doesn't know anything.

Call 911, people. It's the squeaky wheel that gets the cops assigned to your districts. No calls for service, the city thinks that means there's no NEED for service. So you get fewer police.

Rahm knows you way too nice taxpayers up in 016, 017, 019, 020, 024
are too fucking scared to fight back against "Da Communerty" to
reclaim your paid for share of Police services that he STOLE from
you via Garry "Mc Law-Enforcement Gypsy" McCarthy and lavished upon
the festering mass graves that are the West and South sides of Chicago.

There are districts with 500+ Policemen assigned and NOT A ONE
where you way too nice taxpayers live.

And the extra fuck you from Rahm?
Dude is migrating from his over-Policed traditional hunting ground
to go rub on YOU and YOUR loved ones and neighbors.

And if you way too nice taxpayers make an actual move to
snatch back your stolen Police resources?

The South and West Side alderfools will call you RACIST
and SELFISH. The media will run hand-wringing agit-prop
about how you way too nice taxpayers are a bunch of
angry "blue collar" churls who want to go back to Chicago 1960.

The bitter irony is "Da Communerty" is talking out of one side
of their necks about "Ban and disband Tha' Po-leece," yet they
whine and cry out the other side about getting the hands-off
Policing they've been been saying they want; saying: "Why da
Po-leece actin' like they don't care about US?"

"They just picked up his body and left.
They ain't axe no questions or do no
investigatin' or nuttin!"

These peoples and folkses are fucking psychopathic.
They want their asses kissed in perpetuity by Policemen
as a sign of caring...

When a Copper asks "Whodunnit?" only to be consistently told:
"Fuck Y'awl axin' us fo'? Fuck y'awl! We ain't seen shit!
Y'awl figure out whodunnit!"

The reasonable man saves his breath and whistles
for the body-snatchers and watches CFD hose the
shit, blood, brains, teeth and skull fragments
into the sewer.

>Screeching tires and Police tail-lights
getting small in the distance<

"They ain't even talk to us!"

Heh...
You way too nice taxpayers are left with having to
grasp Rahm Emanuel by his tie and belt buckle while
standing on his foot to make him give back the Police
he stole from you.

>Pffft!<

As if any of you are going to muster enough
native manliness to get mean, mad and fight
to take back what's yours.

If you fight Rahm back and use your
collective muscle and know-how to make
his life a living hell, he will fold
like the spoiled, insecure north-shore
shit-ass he is.

Now if you run him out of Chicago, of course
he's going to run to D.C. to exact revenge
for being told "No."

That's just the creature he is.
But fuck him nonetheless.

They're so nice in fact, that if municipal employees were forced to live within the municipality, it seems these would be the perfect places to live. Not a LEO.

What exactly does it mean to be a"down unit/car?"

Is it a vehicle that is on a specific "mission?" Deployed to another district (I am looking at you south and west sides)?. Or is it"down" because there aren't enough officers to 'man' the cars?

8/18/2016 10:08:00 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Down means there are no officers manning the car that would typically be assigned to that beat. There aren't enough officers to begin with, and then they down more cars so the officers that would've been assigned to those cars can ride around with sergeants. Let's say beat 1611 is down. That means no car for that beat. If something happens on that beat, a car from another beat, maybe from the other end of the district, is assigned that job. That means no car covering that beat. Basically, the cars that should be patrolling a certain beat sirens the entire tour running around the entire district to handle jobs on the unmanned beats as well as their own. That means that no beat in the district has the proper coverage at any one time. So, just because your beat car happens to be one of the few cars that are manned doesn't mean your beat is covered. That car could be anywhere.

---------

"Down" is a generic term meaning not available to be assigned at this moment. A unit could be held down on a mission, at lunch, on the scene of an accident.... Whatever. It can also mean the unit was downed for the entire watch (or part of the watch) due to lack of personnel. You'll often hear, "Squad, hold me down at 5 N State on follow-up." Or "1123, I've got a No. 2 parker for you, but I'm not holding you down."

Here's a discussion about all kinds of CPD lingo, past and present, including the history behind the term "down":
