Mounted Graduation

Congratulations to the graduates:
  • A new group of mounted Chicago police officers has hit the streets, after completing what they said was some of the most difficult training of their lives.

The officers ran their equine partners through a demonstration that included a police SUV barreling into the training arena at the South Shore Cultural Center.

The horses stood perfectly still as the SUV circled them, tires spinning, horn and sirens blaring, and a capgun blazing – all noises the horses might encounter on the job.
And some new uniforms were unveiled at the ceremony:

Nowadays, even the horses need all the possible protection available.

OT -- Control your personal space

Did protesters use 'poisoned stickers' to give cops skin burns during demonstrations outside the Republican National Convention?

* Two officers were treated for skin irritation in Cleveland's downtown Public Square on Thursday during protests surrounding the convention
* A Georgia state trooper was treated after coming in contact with a sticker during the protests, according to authorities
* Protesters had been placing yellow stickers on law enforcement officials
* The stickers were sent to Columbus for further testing
* Protesters had reportedly been placing yellow stickers on law enforcement officials that read, 'I am awesome"

To all the officers who responded to the officer shot/shots fired call in 001 last night: I want to personally thank everyone for an outstanding job. From guarding the crime scene in torrential rain, to those blocking traffic for the squad en route to Northwestern, to those who were compelled to come directly to the hospital in a show of support - to the others who continued to do the everyday job of answering routine calls while their hearts were in their throats - to the those who we entrust to investigate and process evidence...thank you on behalf of my men and women in 001. Your response was overwhelming. I apologize for not thanking you on the radio but it was pretty chaotic. In these awful times, this brings close to our home the reality of what this job costs us. The citizens were phenomenal - staying on scene to talk with detectives. The hospital staff - locked down the ER from prying eyes and allowed us to take over. Thank God our officer is going to be fine, and we thank every one for their prayers. Peace to you all-
Capt.B

Why on earth would one allow a sticker to be placed upon them by a protestor?

Yes new ET's finished all their training and after being there for months were waiting to be promoted when the city decided they didn't have it in the budget to promote them and made 5 of them go back to their units till there is enough room in the budget??? Think about that when you are waiting hours on a crime scene. City couldn't be bothered to promote a whole 5 more people to ET who don't even make all that much more. Sure seemed to have it in the budget to hire Robin Robinson and that woman from Washington. Talk about screwing PO's over, how shitty!

If a protester touches you, knock his /her teeth out. You were just assaulted and that justifies an arrest.

Nope. The "overmilitarized appearance" will "offend certain segments of the community." Goths, Visigoths, Tartars, Moors, someone will complain.

Another massive killing events innocents in a mall in Germany looks like Trump again correct about vetting all that are coming into this country and make nations pay that get free military protection:

We may need that Armour, keep head on a swivel, look around when approaching all calls, no hurry wait for back-up always please stop the "I got it squad call you if I need help!" Think doing this prevents police hiring and allows you to go into possibly dangerous deadly situation, wait for your back-up no matter how long! The only calls I rush into is 10-1,officer in need of assistance, or police family calling we protect Blue first last and always! Without Blue society is finished no matter what elected idiots say!

We need Every bit of help. Teach the ponies to give the rotten vile terror agitators a donkey kick.

Right now, a shopping mall, transit center and multiple other locations in Munich Germany is under siege.
(as Obama bashes Trump Border Terror Warning at a Press Conference along with Mexico president)
Two absolute flaky and Clueless Democrat idiots are waxing it over.
Disgusting. Obama won't even break off the press conference.

Lightweight Soft Serve Rahm's decimated police force could hardly keep a city block safe.
Watch the Munich PD and you'll see what I mean.

Be careful out there boys and girls, learn how to shoot that 9mm, learn to operate a carbine a get one.

Why would any police officer allow anyone to walk up on them and paste anything on their persons????

WOW!!

That looks like it hurt. I ---ALMOST--- feel a little sympathy for the guy. But on second thought, no.

It was something to see how that horse just so effortlessly picked up the rear leg and delivered that kick/ That guy has to have some serious injuries.

I hope when he gets out of the hospital there is a court date with his name on it for Cruelty to Animals. And a bill for that car window.

Hmmmm...where are they getting all this Horse Armor? Medieval Times?

Maybe you should all get Maces for crowd control? Now, THAT is some powerful whoopin' tool.

Get those spiked balls whippin' around and no one will come near you.

Congratulations Officers, well done!

an aside:
Those photos of the Knights in shining armor on their 'Gallant Steeds' :-), also decked out in armor are not exactly historically correct. It's not the Knights or the Armor on the horses that wrong, it's the Horses themselves.

Battle Horses were not beautiful thoroughbreds like shown, they wouldn't last an hour lugging around all the combined weight and then go into battle. The Battle Horses Knights rode were big-boned, strong, Draft-Horses, like Clydesdales but not as pretty. I read somewhere that the Battle Horse of the Middle Ages was like the Tank of today.

I'm not saying a beautiful Thoroughbred was never decked out in armor -- for paintings, tournaments, a parade, they could have, but not for a battle. A BIG Horse needed and used for that -- well, except in a Hollywood movie.
