Garfield Ridge

There are pockets of support, here and there. Mostly the taxpaying areas of the city - who are being shorted police coverage on a daily basis:
  • With blue ribbons on trees and blue light bulbs, porch after porch in Garfield Ridge illuminated in the color of law enforcement, a way for residents to say to police, "We're leaving the light on for you."

"It sends a message home. It's such a quick indicator, a very simple action, but there's a lot of meaning behind it. And we certainly hope it catches on," says Al Torres of Garfield Ridge.

Torres is among many in the community bathing their porches in blue. The campaign was organized by residents of this southwest side neighborhood where many cops live. At a community meeting Monday night there were prayers for the safety of officers.

"We just want to show them that, hey, you know what, in all the troubled times that are going on in the country and in Chicago, that, hey, we've got your back. We support you," says resident Al Cacciottolo.
All well and good. Now we need your voices - in the media, in the community meetings, and in the voting booth. Stop voting for the "same-old-same-old." Start a grassroots "law and order" candidacy and put the fear of a vocal majority in the asshole politicians.

This Mayor is nuts - in the clinical sense of the term. Fucking schizo. The link for this post had this quote:

"Find a way to thank, individually, an officer for both being a police officer, for being selfless in their sacrifice for the rest of us," says Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

Okay. So why flap your gums like that if you're going to write a letter to the judge on behalf of an urban terrorist? You can't have it both ways, shithead. I don't often quote George W. Bush, but he said these words almost 15 years ago:

"You're either with us, or the terrorists."

Decide one way or the other, but quit trying to sit safely on the fence! Do you want chaos or civilization? There's an earthquake coming. The fence sitters are going to have to jump off, to one side or the other. Where they land is where they'll have to stand. Choose . . . before circumstances make the choice for you.

SCC - Last May you were kind enough to publicize a Blue&Red ribbon campaign for First Responders that a citizen organized in Skokie. The program was well received and the ribbons are proudly displayed.
But you raise an even more important point - get our family and friends to Register & Vote the entire ballot, especially the judicial portion which most people skip. Get them to also vote on the re-districting referendum so that Munchkin Madigan will lose his stranglehold on our legislature. Gerrymandering the legislative districts is one of his key strategies.
Now if our FOP would start listening to the membership before granting an endorsement [crickets]

That being said, my house and cars would get fucked up if I put anything like that up.

To all you Police supporters out there it is time to give BLM a taste of it's own medicine. They are reeling after the killing and maiming of Police Officers around the country. Don't let them off the hook. If you are on Yahoo, FB, etc and they have an article pro or con police or even a homicide, you can find a way to stick it to these assholes. Don't just disagree with what BLM says but use their actions against them. Here are a few examples. One of BLM's chants was what do we want dead cops, when do we want it now. You got your dead cops, now what do you want?
Refer others in your comments to Homicide Watch Chicago. They will be greeted by 7 pictures of some of the most recent victims, most likely all minorities and inform them to click on the victims category. They will see approximately 70 murders that last names start with an A, 160 that start with the letter B etc that have happened in the last 3 years. Make note of the clearance rate and be sure to mention how short handed the police force is. People outside of Chicago will be horrified at the loss of life as I am. Don't let them drive the agenda unchecked.
Busloads of young minority kids cheering pigs in a blanket fry them like bacon after the Dallas shootings, Ohio cop hospitalized after eating a sandwich with glass in it, cops being ambushed and killed, a cop with a fractured spine in Mn from a protester heaving a slab of concrete off an overpass during what the police called a riot etc, Lots of ammunition to use against these anarchists, don't let up, don't back down, don't use racist terms as many people are disgusted by them, including myself.

Support your police!

We need to make sure anything like this that happens is reported to the SCC newsroom immediately so we can be sure to never entertain the thought of entering this pathetic environment and also make sure to have health department check for violations maybe this young thug was worried about police officers health and didn't want him to be sickened by the filth served? The reality be careful where you purchase food from the story yesterday where copper rushed to hospital after biting into a sandwich with thin glass shards bleeding from the mouth to the story that happened years ago on another thread where a copper coded out from massive loss of blood from tear in stomach. You want grass roots ? Emma Walsh was a Republican election judge in the 14th Ward (Burke Madigan). When she called Burkes people out for shenanigans, they changed the rules. You had to have the permission of the party committeeman to be a judge. In this case the Republican committeeman was a Madigan plant. Emma took on the plant. She went door to door, made her own fliers at her own expense vs. the plant being backed by Madigan/Burke. Emma won. Like her on Facebook at Emma Walsh 14th Ward Republican Committeeman.

Once again, there's a large group of us who already are doing the behind-the-scenes work to fix this situation -- for decades in some cases -- because we've seen bad things on the horizon. Unfortunately, and especially in states like Illinois where there are massive congealed groups of stark mad leftists (called Chicago) there's not a lot we can do. I do agree, that the public's collective memory is very short, and it seems that unless we're in the middle of a crisis, people forget about what's important, and start worrying about things like bathrooms for trans-sexuals.

What we have right now is a crisis. Police AND whites have targets on their backs, placed there firmly by the media, the politicians, and the misguided, low-output segment of society. Sadly, this is just the crisis that will hopefully wake the otherwise right-thinking group of people who don't want to live in a third-world country, but can't understand why we all "can't just get along". THIS is why. Because there's a criminal element in humanity, because it never sleeps, and you can't encourage and embolden it and expect positive results.

Many law-abiding citizens, especially the independent thinking type, don't necessarily appreciate "authority". Human rights come from a higher source, and man-made authority structures unfortunately remind us that, higher source or not, we also live in a society with man-made rules and expectations. These rules can be an annoyance when you forget how fast you're driving, but they're also there to protect you and your family from the brazen criminal element.

Yes, speeding tickets are annoying, but the police who issue them are the same people who allow us to sleep safely in our beds at night, and they're being targeted by the human garbage that concurrently targets ALL of us. Unless you're ready to personally get into the trenches and battle with this human garbage, unless you know what this is like, you might want to get on the side of those who have signed up for the job. This is what the blue lights and the ribbons are about. We get it, and we appreciate it. We appreciate YOU, and all you do for us. There's more required than simply saying "thank you" and putting on a blue porch light, but this is just another aspect of the struggle, there to remind everyone, INCLUDING the police, that we appreciate you.

Does it really matter where anyone got a Masters Degree from? At least it shows some initiative, some interest in bettering themselves and a little bit of self worth. You can get educated to varying levels at most institutes of higher learning, but going to college in many institutions is quite similar. Not comparing universities, some are better than others of course, but most are quite similar and you get out of it what YOU put into it.

7/20/2016 01:54:00 PM

Yes, it really does matter whether you got that degree from a diploma mill (where you're basically buying the degree with your tuition dollars, no matter how poorly you perform in school) or a REAL institution of higher learning.

It may not matter when you're just fulfilling the degree requirement for CPD, but it does matter out in the business world. They don't want 'play' degrees; they want to believe you actually learned something that helps prepare you to function in the real world.

OT --
Police pepper spray and arrest 17 Communist protesters trying to burn the Stars and Stripes outside RNC in the most violent rally since convention began

* Communist group claims Old Glory is a sign of imperialism and set fire to a flag
* Police moved in and used pepper spray and a fire extinguisher amid ugliest scenes so far at the RNC in Cleveland
* Group called Donald Trump 'a fascist' and also object to Hillary Clinton, who they shouted was a 'war criminal'
* Thousands of officers have been deployed to keep the peace and ensure security at the convention which has already declared Trump the official Republican candidate
* Officers in protective armor and with helmets were on patrol for first time on Wednesday - until now they had been kept in reserve
* California Highway Patrol troopers with AR-15s were deployed outside Quicken Loans Arena in sign of higher security

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3700211/Police-use-pepper-spray-foil-bid-burn-Stars-Stripes-Communist-protesters-ugly-clash-outside-Republican-National-Convention.html

"The group of Communists, thought to be from Chicago, had publicized their desire to burn the American flag (center) and had drawn a large crowd of onlookers and TV crews."

So let's see if any of the usual suspects come limping back in here on crutches and so forth. Should be a spectacle.

– thought about doing the same & remembered the condition of the last FOP Newsletter I received. Torn, twisted, folded and pages crumbled. Maybe it was a mechanical malfunction during the sorting process, but all indications - and the amount of discarded USPS rubber bands throw about my lawn and sidewalk, I'm think that it may have been intentional.
I should have taken a picture of it. I really dont like getting the Newsletter in the mail anymore.
I don't feel safe displaying the Thin Blue Line Flag and sitting in my livingroom, even though my Alderman former CPD/CFD.
LY'IN SPECIAL ED, where are those 016 reinforcements? More are coming? Yeah sure-sure, not even half will be allowed to come and replace those already been retired. Oh, we're getting maybe 12 next bid...after 40 retired since last bid opening and still down 100 or so.
Another empty - promise another LIE.

time for residents to protest at city hall
citizens in 4,8,16 and 22 deserve the same amount of or more police on patrol as Englewood . Englewood has one officer per hundred citizens and is 1/3 the size of other districts that have one officer per 400 citizens ,
the bigger problem is Englewood has extra officers from narcotics , gang crimes and officers working day off in vri

Loved Rahm choking up for the kid the bangers shot. This is an everyday incident Rahm, You and the midget destroyed Chicago. People are starting to talk about the shooting in the ghetto, no one really cares. Let the Rev' hold hands and ask themselves WHY ? Because the generations of so many are just like their kids, no working and give me your stuff assholes. The great CPD, even the one' who always did the right thing for these people do not care anymore.
They wanted this Lawless ghetto frame mind, and they go it.
Rahm and the rest of the hood rats can fend for themselves. 12 percent of the population should fend for themselves, Barry will be gone soon and he has destroyed his people.
The country has seen and had it with these lawless people, who never get enough of our tax dollars.

How about the Blue Ribbon Store?

I wonder if the fine residents of the 3800 block of Grenshaw would be kind enough to put up their blue ribbon display. It was the fruitless pursuit of the old 1130 Sgt. But alas his dream was never realized as he's retired now.

"In order for Trump to beat Hillary we would need to get every cop and every cop's family member to vote. Dean Angelo will be making an appearance at the Northsider's luncheon along with Sheriff Clark from Milwaukee on August 9th.

Dean should state LOUD AND CLEAR in no uncertain terms how he and FOP will accomplish this. Be ready for questions Dean."

So you're advocating that flop should endorse Trump? Flop hasn't endorsed a Presidential candidate in the last two elections .

Get your ass to a Memebership meeting and work on pressing him for a better contract better yet get a strong candidate and vote that joke out

Mabey off topic, but this is about one of the only Politicians who speeks up and supports The Police, unconditionally. Alderman Anthony Napolitano (prior CPD/CFD) is having a golf outing on Sept 15, 2016. The outing is at Edgebrook Golf Course at 6100 N Central Ave in the 41st Ward. Shotgun start at 1pm, dinner at 6pm. You can register or sponsor the event online at birdeasepro.com/Napolitano or call Chris at 773-350-9052. Thank you for supporting one of our own.
_______________
Oh yea he probably does support the CPD. But why won't he stand up and call out his counter parts and their honor students? You can't call it like it is in this city. You will shunned and called a racist. He will fall in line with the rest. We have zero representation inside and outside the Dept. When you see him at his outing tell him actions speak louder than words.

How about this idea folks (and people too, per SCC). Instead of blue lights and ribbons flood city hall with letters demanding that Rahm hire 1000 more cops asap. Then flood the courts with letters condemning the release of Jamal Green for battering a police officer. Those small gestures, like the lights and ribbons, will go a long way.

Speaking of police support:
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/07/20/hate-cops-billboard-causes-uproar-in-indiana.html.

Everyone should call Hometown Outdoor Advertising, (765) 288-9000, and let them know what cowards they are. Also ask if they are a business that is against the police.

7/20/2016 11:25:00 AM

Sorry, I don't get your point.
They put up a sign that says 'Hate cops? Then call a crackhead instead of 911'. That's PRO-cop, not anti-cop.
They're saying if you're such a cop-hater, you should call a junkie (or a gang member, or a neighbor, or a dogcatcher) but don't call those cops you hate so much when you need help.

7/20/2016 09:18:00 PM

The point is that the sign company took the sign down after some bitch complained it was offensive. The company was not the party that paid for the ad, therefore, they caved into the anti-police side.
