Assassinated in Baton Rouge. a black officer, husband, father, family man and according to friends and family, his community and surprisingly even some protesters claim he was a great police officer. I decided to go to his Facebook page (his name is Montrell Jackson) but his page was private. So I clicked around on his friends pages. Now, to our supporters, in the event you come across slain officers social media pages: no one, and I mean NO ONE there cares about all of this political shit. They don't want to hear you talk about what you think of BLM, Obama, "martial law", or any of that shit. Saw a few posts of people trying to convince his family members and friends of whose fault this shooting is. Do you think they really care at a time like this? Leave that crap on YOUR own page. When I was a rookie many years ago, I proudly put my uniform on everyday and really felt that I was helping make a difference in somebody's life. A complete stranger, an elderly lady or a lost child. And then in Grant County, Wisconsin (southwest corner of the state near Dubuque) an off-duty deputy was attacked in front of his family by a man he had arrested. The officer suffered bumps on his head and several citizens jumped in and took care of the assailant.

I am sorry to say this but the American public has a very short term memory.
I do not need kind gestures like paying for my coffee, I do not need a thumbs up or some words of encouragement.
If the American public really wants to support the police then pressure the politician to make our jobs easier and not harder. On a broad stroke it is very simple; if you resist arrest then when we use physical force do not Monday Morning Quarterback us.

The first interview WGN radio and Dean Richards do after the announcement of three Police Officers being killed is with two BLM members. Seen a comment some where here about if sheriff Clarke is "spreading himself to thin", and I believe he is. CNN's Don Lemon came out of that interview looking like the professional man there, sad to say. David Clarke not only made accusations, but could not back those accusations up, other than the "hands up, don't shoot" narrative, which don lemon agree'd with him on. The sheriff claimed literally everything was a lie, all research and statistics were "lying" according to him in his own words. even the research he decided to bring up (the Harvard study that says blacks and whites are killed no differently by police). When Don lemon reminded him that that same study found blacks were more likely to be arrested more "violently" than whites, Sheriff Clarke claimed it wasn't true and it was an assumption.
I believe the sheriff branching out to do interviews isn't particularly a good look for him. Let's be honest, here. ALL mainstream media in this country has their own narrative. FOX news fits Sheriff Clarkes mentality. If he goes on FOX and asks "do you think BLM is spreading anti-police ideologies?" He could probably get someone there to agree with him (of course, depending on the show, because I am not claiming FOX's news reporters are unprofessional). But the narrative on CNN and the like is not to immediately agree with or give that question substance. In that interview, I personally believe the Sheriff was not prepared to be disagreed with, like he wouldn't be on FOX.
And sorry, SCC. Didn't mean to come here and talk about Sheriff Clarke or Don Lemon. I truly meant to comment R.I.P. To the 3 Baton Rouge officers, and I wish a speedy recovery to the others.

Was at Normandy park tonight on beat 811, meeting of the Garfield ridge neighborhood watch it was to show support for CPD overflowing crowd, free blue ribbons to show support blue lightbulbs for $1.00 donation to fallen officers, even fasano pie company gave free small pies away. Deputy chief Washington came and spoke, Annette Holt came and spoke and said if communities on the south side could come together and support police and the neighborhood like was done here it would make the city a much safer place! The secret is out show support for your police officers it starts there, keep an eye on crime in your neighborhood get involved abc7 Eric Haung was there put a piece on the 10 o'clock news about supporting police! We have great officers on west end of 008 but we could use more! Just to say you for all they do, now that I recently retired from CPD nice to see the new generation of Cpd taking care of my neighborhood thank you, and if I see you taking an action this dinosaur will have your back that's a promise, like they say when your a Marine your a Marine for life, if your CPD blue your also blue for life! What you need to do is be thankful and grateful that people do any good things for the police at all. If people go out of their way to show their gratitude to you and support you then smile and say thank you. You're complaining for the sake of complaining. Some cops complain because they enjoy it. Complaining about shit somehow makes them think that acting miserable and being an asshole is justified. Its not justified. Thanks to the people who still support cops despite the above comment from the crybaby club.
