High Bond - Thanks Judge!

  • The man seen in a Facebook video choking a Chicago police officer and then apparently being kicked or stomped in the head by a second officer last week made his first court appearance in connection with the case on Saturday.

Shaquille O'Neal, 23, of the East Garfield Park neighborhood, appeared at the Leighton Criminal Courts building after being charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and aggravated battery by strangulation, as well as possession of a controlled substance.

The charges stem from his arrest and the altercation Monday, which was captured on video and posted on Facebook. Cook County Judge Peggy Chiampas on Saturday set bail for O'Neal at $1 million.
That's the Tribune report. The NewsRadio 780 report (which isn't online yet) stated that Judge Chiampas viewed the entire video, start to finish, and when the defense insisted that the assailant was knocked unconscious, Chiampas told him bluntly, "No, he wasn't," and set the $1 milllion bond.

If a judge can see it, why can't the superintendent? Someone could point out the numerous potential assailants threatening the police. Then they could get one of those pretty Use of Force printouts in full color and explain the bigger words to Eddie. Then De-Escalante could slip him the answer sheet that explains how unconscious people can't latch their teeth into an Officer's arm and he just lost the trust of the entire Department over a heroin dealer.

There have been quite a few good comments about this case. This comment was at the end of a thread from a couple days ago and I know many do not go back and read older threads.
I wanted this front and center so that all can see that this is the truth.
Thank you to the original poster, well said. And a huge thanks to the A/N Detectives, the A/N Det Sgt. and the A/N Commander.

Anonymous said...

The FOP had absolutely NOTHING to do with his arrest after having been RWOC.
It was the commitment the investigating detectives and their Sgt. have that resulted in his being arrested the second time.
The S.A.'s office used a perfect excuse to not approve charges.
The Superintendent stripped and is looking to fire the officer, we're not touching it until IPRA is done with the investigation.
They gave the investigating detectives a constantly moving set of to do items in order to approve charges.
When this "justice involved" subject was RWOC'd, the investigating detectives and their Sgt. hit the case even harder and presented the case so the S.A.'S office had to approve charges.
It is obvious, had this officer been given his due process, or had the Superintendent had the common sense to look at the facts of the case, bothered to take a glance at the G.O's on the use of force, this situation would not have occurred.
Instead, he's in communication with civilians that have no background in law enforcement other than as defendants and antagonists, furnishing details of an ongoing investigation, not talking to or giving one of his officers the due process we are all entitled to.
I am proud to work with the detectives assigned this case and their Sgt.
A huge amount of work was done by these detectives and by their Sgt.
They never lost the faith for their brother officer.
They saw the injustice done to this officer, the lack of support by our top command and did the right thing.
We are going through an extremely difficult time now, the criminal lack of leadership at our top levels is disheartening.
It seems, no, it's been shown that the only people being held accountable are the non-exempt on this department.
This officer was lucky to have had the detectives and Det. Sgt. he had assigned to his case.
The Commander is the best in the city and let his people do their job.
This is obviously a highly political case, not the first time this Commander has done the right thing in spite of the consequences.
I'm sure you've all heard from some supervisors, the bad ones, " If you're 100% right I've got your back."
Well, it's when I'm 90% right and it's in the grey area that I need you to have my back.
When I'm 100% right, I shouldn't need to have you have my back.
In this case, the Superintendent has shown that it doesn't matter if you're right, following the G.O's, if some "justice involved" subject that has access to the Superintendent's direct line is advocating/ supporting "a life for a life", this Superintendent has shown who his loyalty lies with.

Supt sent the commanders into roll call to explain the reasoning. You know they fucked up when commanders are in roll call at 7am on a Saturday morning trying to play "damage control." Our commander literally said "he seems to be within the parameters of the use of force model but I think the dept in this day and age is in the business trying to keep the community peaceful." So you're flat out admitting that you removed an officer from the street and put him in call back for doing nothing wrong because we need to appease the criminals in the community so they don't riot? HOLY FUCK this city is a joke. That officer needs to get a lawyer and sue the city ASAP. This shit is bullshit.

Apparently the wise Sherrif is no longer supplying toilet paper to these officers while at work. They must bring in there own personal toilet paper to use during there shift. A supposed budget cut UN FFFFIING BELIEVEABLE. I have heard from one family member and several friends that this is going on right now. Yet the inmates have no problem using the washroom and are provided toilet paper to wipe there criminal behinds. Chicago suntimes story on all the evil white men who test so well and get promoted to detective/sergeant/lieutenant leaving our supervisory ranks not looking like "the community." Over the last 10 years only 52 blacks were smart enough to make it by score to sergeant - an amazingly low number. 60 blacks (60 whites also) promoted by merit to sergeant over last 10 years. They did foi the latest merit people and have their nominees posted online so it's interesting in that regard.

Rahm's been chipping away at this department ever since he put foot back in town.
Putting Eddie in charge may be Rahm's nail in the coffin.
As a previous poster stated Eddie couldn't run security for a 3 card Monte game on the South Side.... yet Rahm made him Superintendent because both Rahm and "the community" demanded a black Supe.
Eddie is a buffoon who's loyalty and priorities are all skewed.
I said it before and I'll say it again: this Eddie as Supe experiment will not end well for us, for Rahm nor for the whole damn city.

Judge Peggy Chiampas' jurisprudence is what is severely lacking at the crook county criminal court building. Only 10% of the judges who are seated at crook county are qualified to administer the law fairly. The rest, the 90% are the same as streets and sans or political crook county hacks whose decisions are based on race, political motives or the perceived injustice the media plays over and over and resemble nothing close to the law. Similar to makeup of the supervisors of the the CPD. Crook County is a system where those in charge do not want anyone held accountable for their lawlessness. The only people held accountable are the police who are tried by public opinion created by the liberal media, those who have the superintendents cell phone number and the revruns. This is a social experiment designed to change a once lawful society and create a new dark ages.

Other than a couple douches who are still bringing in arrests including the little douche who walks around likes he's built with his uuw arrest the day after the P.O. was stripped, most of 010 Tact is just responding to calls and stopping with the pro-active policing. It's good to see they, as most of the police department, has finally learned the department will not back you even when you are right. Off topic. Worked vri last night in 007. While waiting in the lot to start, a guy was pissing off the 3rd floor balcony and could care less. Music blasting so loud it made your fillings rattle. As the night grinded on, you could smell the weed burning in the air. As you tried to squeeze down the double parked streets, people crossing with open bottles of courvosier and Hennessy consumed in plain sight. Children in baby strollers being pushed around at 230am. I dub thee "Asscrackistan"! We have lost. This morning I see the bucket boys had infiltrated at Irving park and Cicero. "Almighty almighty, this is pbr streetgang over".

They are all afraid to lose their spots instead of saying/doing the right thing. Bunch of no balls brass we have that want us to call them leaders. Um, sorry but if you don't lead by example you don't EARN our respect and we will never follow you.

Escalante addressed roll call. He said there was nothing in our use of force model that allows an officer to kick someone in the head.
What a spineless merit hack.

6/19/2016 03:29:00 PM

There also is nothing in writing that I have to be proactive. You cannot have it both ways. They have our back. Yes, with a knife in the back. Johnson said it best; "it looks bad"! That is the deciding factor. ,Since when does the use of force look pretty. Rahm and Johnson know people will not protest crime but will protest use of force against anyone by the police. Stay fetal my friends.

Please tell me he didn't say that. I know I'm only repeating something that every cop already knows - but when deadlly force is authorized, you know, like when your partner is suspended off the ground by his throat - you can kick him anywhere you damn well please! He COULD have shot the mutt! Maybe the copper should get one of those new "he didn't kill him when he could have" medals for his uniform. Peggy chiampas?? Nah, you are completely wrong about that. Listen, she's a great judge and holds people accountable if there is evidence to convict. Let me guess, you lost a case in her room and are bitter now. How about this, write your paper better and learn how to testify like the big kids on this job.

Loretta Lynch simply does not care to understand that she would not be allowed to drive a car, would not be allowed to leave the house without a male relative accompanying her, would be required to keep her face covered at all times upon penalty of having her breasts ripped with a spiked board, would not be allowed to watch TV or listen to music or take snapshots, would not be allowed "a night on the town" without penalty of being buried up to the waist and stoned to death, under the "sharia" law that Obama's private army, his DHS, are trying to suppress even the naming of.

Clinically insane pretense of lack of understanding of seventh-century sharia law -- but with AKs and Nike sneakers and smartphones and smasho booze-and-pot-and-Captagon parties and hot DVDs and fast cars for the modern-day Daesh adherents -- who have a long, documented history of seeking out "beardless" seven-year-old boys for forced sex.

Say "radicalized Muslim" for me.

As someone said, we're not after them because they're Muslim. Muslims are safe here. We're after the crazies for the awful things that they do.

If the Knights of Columbus had shot up that club, the same SWAT would have busted through the back wall.

You are not believable. Worse, you are wearisome.

Cut it out. All of you.

B. He called news stations too, to see how famous he was getting as he fired. Gonna shut that up too? "Technical questions about FCC license renewals," perhaps?

Escalante addressed roll call to try and explain their actions and regain our trust. Fuck that!
They lost it all by pandering to an asshole liberal activist and ruined a working coppers career. See... They want us all to be proactive for numbers ISRs and all this other bullshit but this is what you get for being proactive and involved in a confrontation when you use force necessary to affect an arrest.

Maybe Escalante needs to be rolling around with these thugs on the streets. I bet he will change his tune then when he's asking for help and the thug gets a kick to the head to save his ass !

Another state with a collapsed budget. WE DID IT! WE HIT "THIRD WORLD" STATUS!

"SCC, you might want to talk with some of your Cook County Correction friends and ask them about the toilet paper scandal going on over at 26th. Apparently the wise Sheriff is no longer supplying toilet paper to these officers while at work. They must bring in there own personal toilet paper to use during their shift."

6/19/2016 08:16:00 AM

No more "Top Note" for you. Bring in something for the flo' boss and you might get a roll.

Governor admits Rio is officially a financial disaster ahead of the Olympics as cash crisis leaves police stations so poor they have to borrow toilet paper from neighbours

* Governor Francisco Dornelles has declared financial disaster in Rio, Brazil
* Announcement comes two months before it is set to hold Olympic Games
* Some police stations are being forced to borrow toilet paper from neighbours
* Dornelles' said it could lead to 'total collapse' of the state's public services

Moving so fast downwards that I can hardly keep track.

Everyone -- spend as much time with your families as you can, cook loud & uproarious, laugh like hell, put up the good jams, grab a case a cold ones, lay back, and leave the street behind. Drive safe, work safe, get home safe.

Decent citizens, police, everyone working so hard for "diminishing returns" -- God bless all here.

Not a cop, but looking at that video I felt as if the officers were surrounded by people wishing to intimidate them. It concerned me as a taxpayer to see our officers at such risk. I am so glad I was not surrounded by so many people not wanting me there to begin with... how can anyone watch this and not want to help that cop if they were there? They were surrounded.

I know he is controlled by Rham but Apparently he didn't take the totality into consideration nor the fact that this arresting officer was fighting with an active assailant. Glad I went to Cicero to be a cop rather than be hung out to dry by these political morons being placed at the top of one of the best police departments like Chicago. Friggin copper just doing his job, so can someone in Chicago have these coppers backs!

Did any of the spectators shoot a video when Shaquille O'Neal choked the officer?
Hopefully, someone did and handed it over to authorities. Also, made public for ALL viewers to see.
So far, the only videos floating around is where the officer kicks the thug, 'well-deserved.' Some media stations didn't bother mentioning O'Neal attempted biting the officer.

Bless the judge.

When will Rahm and Johnson admit gangs, 'black gangs' are the problem? If not for the POS's walking around looking for trouble, Chicago would once again be a nice city. Well, nicer anyway.

3. has the FOP filed a civil lawsuit against Shaquille O'Neal, 23, of the East Garfield Park neighborhood, for the battery injuries sustained by both arresting police officers!

FOP spend our union dues on behalf of these two police officers' harms done onto them!

they were both injured while in the line of duty!

6/19/2016 11:38:00 AM

*****

A third party can not file suit, the officers have too. FOP has always assisted the officers whenever they have filed suit.

But the officers have to file with there own attorneys.
