Glad that Garry and Rahm have it under control. I am sure that releasing another 10,000 inmates back to their neighborhoods will help the neighborhoods heal.

This just gets to be numbing after a while. It's hard not to get desensitized to it. But God help us all if we, as a society, just start to accept this behavior as "that's just how Chicago is." I don't have the answer on how to avoid that and I don't know anyone who does. There's no magic bullet. Everything starts in the home but what can you do when the home life itself is chaotic and dysfunctional to begin with ? I've known a couple of social workers who switched careers because it was so overwhelming. Life is precious and all we know for sure is that we have just ONE CHANCE to live it out and get it right.

I'll rein it in here but thanks for letting me vent a little. I love this blog and the men and women who risk it all every day to preserve this city. You're understaffed but I hope you know that you're not under-appreciated.

I heard this guy Jay Peterman is running it. You get a pizza bagel and a fun sized Three Musketeers for $39.95.

WHY are they just talking about weekend numbers this should be a Sunday thru Sunday statistics since Monday thru Thursday night theres at least 20 shot with 5 or 6 dead every week also bringing weekly totals to approximately 50 to 60 shot and anywhere from 12 to 15 dead a week. WHY just focus on weekend numbers as if the rest don't exist!!!

Let the officers show their tattoos. Maybe that will decrease the shootings.

It will be just as effective as the other programs.

Now, kees me you fool!!!!

My friends and family that remain in Chicago have pretty much just accepted that the killings and crime in general are just a part of everyday life there. You could put another 25,000 cops on the streets, but the feral bangers will just move to where the cops aren't like the immediate suburbs that line the city limits. When they closed the projects, the crime didn't stop it just moved. Chicago has a people problem and plenty of ways to make money on blaming the wrong people.

Yeah but look at all that ObamaCare subsidy money pouring into the city enriching first responders, E/R personal, rehab centers and big pharma's.

The lawyers and court personnel and judges need these shootings too. So the shootings are a tool to extract more money from all the taxpayers.

How would those people survive if not for the shootings and killings?

This is mayor Ali Baba and his 50 thieves economic stimulus program to keep the wheels greased let's face it. It's a billion dollar business and they don't screw with corporations of that size.

If Chief Keef made comedy rap videos about Chicago violence maybe the mayor would leave him alone, You know like a Spike Lee comedy?

Is it just me or is McGoofy and Napolean's incessant refrain of "crime is down" finally fading away?

Yep....We'll be coming real soon to Chicago to spend money and see the sites - NOT.

Chicago needs more of a Mayor like Giuliani was for NYC. Clean up the city. (oh - and cut the Sales Tax)
