Fight This Pardon Application

This isn't a Parole Hearing, but an application for a pardon. And it's right here in town, so a decent showing shouldn't be difficult:
  • I have written to you about this before and I hate to have to do so again. As you may recall, Pat Quinn commuted the sentence of Howard Morgan. A jury convicted Morgan of four counts of Attempt Murder of four uniformed police officers. After exhausting his appeals, he engineered the commutation of his sentence. He is now seeking a full pardon based on innocence. This will allow him to get a FOID card and try to revive his now dismissed civil suit against the officers. [...] I am asking for your help in one of several ways. You can send a letter of protest to the board at:

    Illinois Prisoner Review Board
    Craig Findley, Chairman
319 East Madison Street, Suite A
    Springfield, Illinois 62701
    Phone (217) 782-7273
    Fax (217) 524-0012

Another way to help would be to show up in support of the victims at the State of Illinois Building 100 W. Randolph, Chicago, Illinois on July 8, 2015, at 9:00 a.m., or send representatives from your departments. The petitioner usually has several uninformed supporters at all of his court dates. It would be helpful to have officers and civilians who are familiar with all the facts to support the officers.

The final way would be to let other people know about this.
    Thanks,
Quinn commuted this jagoff's sentence on the way out the door, ignoring facts in evidence and testimony elicited at court - it was pretty much a "fuck you" to law enforcement as Quinn had just lost reelection. Morgan was a piece of shit years ago that never seemed to get flushed and nearly cost four officers their lives. A full pardon would be another bad joke in this crooked state.

SCC: Thank you for publicizing yet another attempt by a dangerous convict to circumvent justice. Given the poor performance of the Pardon Review Board, we should be vigilant of their actions and the final decision by the Governor to accept/reject their decision.

On a happier note, after the capture of the second escaped convict in New York, local residents held a rally thanking law enforcement. Its nice to see law abiding citizens supporting the Police - as well as the media having to grudingly report it. And media couldn't complain of the "military looking" Police since the community wanted these killers caught.

I think the board only makes a recommendation. Wouldn't Rauner have to sign off on it?

Please let us know the details of the case. What happened to the officers. I will gladly write a letter and/or be there on the morning of the 8th though I don't wear the uniform.

Also, this was a "f" you to you officers because he had just lost the election. What a mature asshole.

Does he still live in Mont Clare/Galewood?

Geeze is that the best you can come up with.

Then you better keep damn fool ideas like that to yourself.

That area voted out the Shortshanks anointed replacement for that tool Alderman William J.P. Banks, Tony Rice and voted in Nick Sposato. That pissed Rahm off so Rahm gerrymandered Sposato out and we got Rahm rubber stamp Deborah Graham, so they voted her out and voted in ex-CPD Sgt. Chris Taliferrio.

A lot of Cops, Firefighters, CTA, S&S and Teachers live there and they hate his guts too.

Feb 21st 2005 10th district officers were dropping off a curfew violator at home and heard what sounded like gun shots. The officers then saw Morgans van driving the wrong way down a one way street with no headlights on. The officers pulled the van over. Two officer from TRU observed the traffic stop and stopped to assist. Morgan exited the van and began yelling at the officers. The officers attempted a protective pat down and Morgan began fighting with them. Morgan pulled a gun and started shooting. 3 out of 4 officers got shot and Morgan got shot by return fire. He only served a couple years out of a 40 year sentence because Quinn let him out. Now Morgan wants a pardon to reinstate his food and civi suit.
