Coppers Injured in Wreck

  • Emergency officials are responding to a crash involving a Chicago police squad car near 87th and Loomis in the city's Gresham neighborhood.

Three officers are reportedly injured and trapped inside the squad. There's no word yet on their conditions.
Hopefully, nothing that can't be fixed. Best wishes to the Officers.

Prayers for the officers.

Hopefully it will be like NASCAR, where the car is trashed, but everyone walks away.

College president sorry for saying 'All lives matter'

December 10, 2014

"The president of prestigious Smith College is red-faced and apologetic Tuesday for telling students on the Northampton, Mass., campus that "all lives matter."

"Kathleen McCartney wrote the phrase in the subject line of an e-mail to students at the school...McCartney was attempting to show support for students protesting racially charged grand jury decisions in which police in Missouri and New York were not charged in the deaths of unarmed black men.

"Protesters have adopted several slogans in connection with the cases of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, including "Black Lives Matter." McCartney's more inclusive version of the refrain was seen as an affront that diminished the focus on black lives and racism...

“We are united in our insistence that all lives matter,” read the e-mail,in which she made clear she was strongly behind the protests, writing that the grand jury decisions had “led to a shared fury… We gather in vigil, we raise our voices in protest.”

“It’s hard to challenge minds while walking on eggshells.”

Speedy recovery for all involved...it's never easy to hear this type of news...especially since non life threatening injuries doesn't mean that those injuries sustained won't be life altering. Drive safely everyone!!!

Remember vehicle accidents have been the #1 cause of police fatalities for well over the last decade.
Please be safe out there.

Stop speeding to this nonsense to help ungrateful citizens. Your safety is more important than any of them and their B.S. Speedy recovery to the three officers.

Damn drivers in Chicago are good for sh-t now a days, and those are the morons with a license. Crashes like this never used to happen, or *rarely* did. Now it's a common occurrence, at least one a month (friggen morons!).

Prayers and best wishes to the officers. Sadly, after the wreck, the car they were driving looked only slightly worse than it did before the accident.

Passenger in the civilian car involved went face first through the windshield and was sitting curbside holding his face on waiting for EMS...another good reason to buckle-up boys and girls. As I was redirecting traffic, a few driving by stopped to grin at the damaged Police vehicles. Some eagerly asked if any poleeces died.

Feds Arrest Man Attempting To Bring Dozens Of Guns To Ferguson Protesters With Plans To “Go To War For The Hell Of It!”

"A 19-year-old Illinois parolee who helped raid a store of dozens of assault-style rifles and other firearms planned to sell the cache to protesters in Missouri’s Ferguson and “go to war just for the hell of it,” federal authorities allege in charging him with four felonies.

"Dakota Moss of Centralia, about 60 miles east of St. Louis, remained jailed Friday, two days after being charged with stealing firearms from a federal firearms licensee, carrying a firearm during a violent crime, possessing a stolen firearm and being a felon with a firearm.

"All but four of the 39 firearms, including semi-automatic handguns and AR-15 rifles, stolen during the heist early Nov. 29 of the Buchheit farm-and-home supply store in Centralia had been recovered as of Friday, prosecutors said. At least 1,000 rounds of ammunition also were taken during the burglary, authorities said.

"The break-in came five days after sometimes-violent protests resurfaced in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson..."

@ 0354 shame on her for being ashamed. Why should we care if an apparently liberal institution is criticized by a liberal movement? I don't. She picked her pissy bed. Sweet dreams.

Is there really a need for 10 or more foot officers in 012 on any given day, when manpower is as low as 340? Maybe 1 rapid up but any ARMY of catered-to crybaby foot officers. There is a constant backlog/pending jobs even on cold weekdays.

I'm not a fan of the way I see some squad cars flying around on some of our cities street, and I've only begun thinking that way after having seen many wrecks. I am seriously hoping they all make it out of this one okay and that they recover quickly.

Well, I wouldn't say anyone knows it, but you would be silly to claim it isn't probable since
(1) Practically everybody speeds. It's unusual for drivers not to speed in this city, and that goes for cops, too.
(2) It's hard to have a serious accident at 30mph. If someone did have one, it's a good bet they going faster than that.

Quick and healthy recovery to those officers, was kind of surprised to see it make breaking news though. Not like the media gives a crap about the police. More surprised to see those officers aren't driving around in one of those fancy new Explorers we negotiated. I'm sure that car will be back in totation next week.

Oh boy. Oh. Not good either. No one wants to see anyone get hurt like that.

But wait...we are told "the fascists should stay away, the community will provide its own Restorative Justice." Why call for CFD when there is Occupy? "Anonymous" tie-dyed ambulance show up, the crew jump out wearing those really stupid masks? Run him down to the "alternative community organic E.R?" Yeah right. Spit on the society that picks you up every time you fall.

"As I was redirecting traffic, a few driving by stopped to grin at the damaged Police vehicles. Some eagerly asked if any poleeces died."

I know that mindless grin. Payback for driving along at 3 AM, see smoke, go running like crazy, take down the door and low-crouch through the place banging and yelling and grabbing anyone you can find -- any size, shape, color, or type -- to try to get them out of there before it goes fully involved. Sirens still off in the distance, so you are it.

Like our inimitable BCP says, "Viva Hate." Huh?

Perfectly normal, acceptable behavior, not worthy of media comment...but YOU better not even get happy and turn the music up for a minute...do policemen drive by wrecks laughing and asking if hopefully a lot of people died? You would not get it out of the newspapers for years...

So there it is. "Goes with the territory," unfortunately more in some territories than in others...

I believe the accidents make breaking news for two reasons:

1. Media is hoping the
police/citizens are seriously
injured or dead.
2. Media puts the doubt in the
public's mind that the police are
at fault with that comment "don't
know if it was a chase". Of
course, it never is clarified
later. Also, let's always make
it look like police negligence
by never giving all the facts and
interviewing some "witness"
scumbag hater that wasn't even
there.

Get well soon Officers, but take your time off and heal!

Retired
