Rahm Needs More Money

A pair of amusing rumors:
  • Word out of city hall is that Tiny Dancer is pissed about his convoy being caught and dragged through the media for running red lights, so he intends to respond after the new year with a new policy.

Any city vehicle that is captured violating speed camera zones or red light cameras - including police - will have to drop a to-from justifying the violation. Those who do not prepare the report or whose violations are deemed by the hall not to be justified will be fiscally responsible for the cost of the fine.

  • Very True, if the to from is not submitted, The fine will be deducted from all who fail to address the violation.

Also, a civian will find you responsible unless you can produce prood you were responding to an emergency. Real proof, tapes, etc. All civilian operations like streets and saniatation will be getting hit real goo, nothing can justify them running a light !!!

Rahm is not playing, you will pay, like it or not. The union will grieve it nd it will take 5 years before you might get you money back, minus adminstrative fee's. Four drivers from water already got their pay docked for running a light.
Even if these aren't true, it makes for an interesting debate. We're pretty sure that when operating a marked squad, certain allowances are made. Many cops travel without lights and sirens to calls because they like to make arrests and sirens scare criminals away. Is this going to be specifically forbidden now? Are we going to be required to keep a minute-by-minute log to prove we were on the way to assist or arrest and not headed to a bathroom break? Or is it lights-and-sirens the whole way now in an effort to drive down arrests and court time?

Easy fix - park in the station lot, when you get assigned a job go to the job following all traffic laws give a code and return back to the station

I wouldn't worry about what the ignorant a-hole that commented is saying; only is he unable to spell correctly or proof-read, he's just plain wrong. The Tiny Dancer isn't going to use that as a platform.

Do the citizens really want us stopped at red light ? Stoping at red lights =less ground covered= les visibility.
With normal traffic it takes about 25 minutes to get from the 012 th district station to Augusta and California. Not stopping at lights still takes about 10. Add about 15 minutes on average response time to every non 1a call.

There has got to be a better way to run this city, then letting someone like this. Chicago is but a stepping stone for higher aspirations of our current ruler, we are the test guinea pigs before he goes nation wide and tries to run this country. Lets let him know in 2015, that 4 years was enough for us !

If true, maybe the FOP attorney firm who is paid $60k a month will finally earn their money representing us on grievances. Instead of "settling" like they did to the 018th Dist grievance.

BTW, the fop Board only approved $12k a month for the law firm which includes extra hours. I saw the Treasurer's books at Tuesday's meeting and I couldn't believe my eyes!

Very simple solution. Obey all posted speed limit/cameras and red light/cameras. In progress call? Sorry, I will not violate any traffic laws no matter what the priority the job is. I don't care if it takes me 30 minutes to get to an in-progress domestic or person shot.

I will drive safely, but disregard any and all traffic laws to help a fellow police officer, that is the only exception to the above.

This should be grieved immediately by the F.O.P.

If people will remember that the CTA had the same issue and the response (backed by the City of Chicago) was to have the taxpayers pay for the red light tickets issued to CTA buses and workers on duty. This sets a PRECEDENCE. There is NO REASON for a CTA bus to run a red light but if it's OK to let it slide then that should apply to ALL who are on duty serving the public!!!

Oh and lets ignore the safety issue involved with a bus full of citizens running a red light n all, move along, nothing to see here.

First it's people sneaking around the homeland, prowling up coppers' and firemen's driveways at 4 AM looking for pickups without the right sticker. (I've seen some of them in the daytime and they looked so skanky, slouched in a nasty private car, that it read like "suspicious person loitering, possibly with a stolen laptop," and I'm surprised that some homeowner hasn't plugged one of them in the wee hours.)

Now they are going to go after on-duty. Any money a copper has in his pocket is tax money to begin with -- what is this, Operation Claw It Back?

This city is visibly eating itself alive, like a gutted hyena snapping at its own dragging insides.

No wonder. Look at the leadership.

Correct me if I'm wrong here but I remember that the squads had GPS and a camera in them. So with these 'aids' along with the dispatch tape why would you require someone to drop paper for running a red light if you already know the answer?

Use a ticket to save time for marijuana arrest so you have more time to write To From subjects why you didn't use your blue lights to a call, and went thru a red light.

It's the drivers' own stupidity -- even if that stupidity is caving to Rahm's impatience. There is nothing that Rahm attends to that is any sort of emergency that warrants running red lights.

I really hope this isn't true for police. This just shows you how far removed these politicians are. This will hurt the good citizens and the officers big time. There is enough second guessing everything, now we might have to worry about the city deducting money. This isn't a small little town with a couple stop lights. It would be a great disservice to the city, it's people, and the emergency responder.
On the other hand, there is no reason for Cta busses, S&S vehicles, meter readers, construction vehicles, school busses (which I see a lot) etc... To be running lights unless there's an emergency. Police, fire, ems should be excluded. I know media and politicians. like to tell people we are no different. The truth is, we are.

Does this bs really take anyone by surprise? And, by the way, whatever happened to the lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of these cameras? Well, either way, so many people are fed up with this shithole of a town, its the fifty thieves, and the sociopathic napoleon that runs the whole shit show. Talked to many Chicago natives, born and lived here all their lives, who have expressed total disgust for the way everything has declined. As one lady put it, "There's no service for the amount of taxes we pay. The only people that can live here are anymore are the yuppies who can afford $700,000 condos and the thugs." Her sentiments reflect the attacking of the middle class, which has been the goal now for many years. Now, those who serve and protect them are under attack as the city continues to downsize patrol manpower while increasing/maintaining management positions that are either redundant, obsolete, or just sheer waste of six figure salaries, not to mention the strain they put on the already fragile pension. Making first-responders responsible for red-light/speed cam tickets is plain vindictive, unnecessary, and another attempt to legalize and extend theft among those Rahm despises most, despite the fact that it will surely affect the majority of citizens. Response times will increase even more, as officers will be doing 20mph across every school zone and park in the city. Of course, this makes no difference to Rahm, who parades around with a full detail of officers to make sure he wipes his ass in peace.

Chicago's number one industry, manufacturing. Manufacturing of debt to enrich the banking cartel.

When you build a new basketball stadium and have no money to do it with what do you do? You create the money out of thin air by borrowing.

The borrowing process creates the goods that enrich the bankers. BOND SALES.

Rahm manufactures the bonds for the bankers to sell, trade and to bet against. What a surprise eh? A man that came from the banking industry enriching the banking industry.

Yeah. create some bonds for a basketball stadium so the bankers have something new to sell. Who do you think they will sell the bonds to? Maybe your pension managers will buy them eh? What a win-win!!

And the money transfer from the hard working class actually creating value by producing goods and services goes to the money changers creating nothing more that pieces of paper. BONDS.

Think about it.

Who benefits from this shit Rahm is running?

Well the bankers but you're gonna need lawyers to write the deals and there's another zero sum gain for the taxpayers.

With every bond sale goes the future of our children and families and it's Rahm that is doing it. Serfdom

But when the Rahm drivers run the lights again... who will pay then?

....
"To Whom it May Concern,

I received a letter claiming I committed a violation of a speeding law in the District of Columbia on 04/21/2012. As per the instructions, I am writing to plead ‘not guilty’ to this charge. Although this option is said to result in this matter going to court; it is my suggestion that the charges simply be dropped. This suggestion comes out of respect for tax payers, and my request that their hard earned money not be wasted in such proceedings. As there is no evidence of my involvement with this alleged ‘crime’, as well as the fact that I am not granted my 6th amendment right to face my ‘accuser’ (a camera); I see no way the government could prove my guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. I also see find no legal requirement for me to implicate someone else in this process, as it is the government’s responsibility to prove a person’s guilt. It is also my 5th amendment right to remain silent on the matter.

If it is the government’s decision to move forward in this matter, I would request copies of any evidence the prosecution may have of my involvement in the “offense”; as well as, all maintenance records for the camera(s) involved."

If this were to be implemented, response times to calls who increase exponentially, back logs of radio assignments would increase, and it would cost the city money. In busy districts, police officers are saving the city money by rushing from one location where someone is calling for help to another and another, and they do it by running red lights. many people will not be happy with the slower response times.

Think about all the assignments we go to in one tour of duty, and how the minutes sitting at red lights would add up to hours over weeks, months, years. Those are hours we would be paid to sit at a red light, instead of going to help the people who call for help, to fulfill the oath we took to be the police.

Just crazy.

How often we crack a U-turn when we see something on foot or in a car, how often are we over the posted speed limit because we're trying to catch up to a car or get a better look at a cars occupants or to get to a job on the QT without using lights and sirens because we want our arrival to be a surprise to the offenders. The list goes on and on of the examples I could use as to why we do what we do as a police officer.

AA sheets and your car number is shown and you and your partner cwill be double hit.

Inspectors will make sure you guys are not playing around with the numbers on the squads.
CFD was told that they will be the only one' exempt.
It will be a bitch when you get hit with 6 violations and the city deducts your check for $600.00.
Shameful, but Rahm says tuff shit boys and girls.
Ask the copper in 019, (Squad) who got hit with two parkers on a metered street. Caught up with him a year later and the fine was deducted from his check.

Rahm hates City Workers and thinks they/we are scum.. Unlike the old Pre-Shackman/Richard J. Daley days he doesn't need them as prescient workers, Commie and Gangbanger "Community Organizers" do that now, right up to the White House.

City Workers, for the most part, whether they are cops, fire fighters, laborers or paper pushers do not vote for Rahm and he knows it. But they got a little money.

So Rahm puts in a fine system that will only effect city workers. Let them scream all they want, he will just deduct it from their paychecks. Cha-Ching!

So sue me!

Rahm may be pissed that he got caught running the red lights and maybe he will do something about that. Did you ever see the white lights mounted with the traffic lights is some of out suburbs. Those lights get activated by signals of oncoming emergency vehicles can turn the traffic lights in in some directions green and cross traffic red. If the emergency vehicles stop a scene and don't turn it off they can leave the traffic signals stuck. Maybe Rahm with get that system for his convoy.

Now if Feoretti wants to make some points with voters he should gripe abut the Rahm-cameras and push for a computer controlled traffic system designed to efficiently speed traffic along and cut minutes off of trips. If he makes an issue of anything like that Rahm will unveil that plan at his next news conference as the next Vanecko Cash Cow.

As I sit hear and listen to you rant and complain about what the mayor is doing, I as a candidate for mayor am offering you a real change. You talk about the red light cameras, I'm talking about getting rid of them. You talk about the taxes, I'm not trying to raise them on the common working people. I am really trying to help make our lives better, that is across every color line and neighborhood throughout the city. Although I at least need you to meet me half way.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

If you decide not to do anything, well then just be prepared for what is to come, that is to say R & R or R to the second power. Both these people are trying not to have a pension system for not only police but all city employees. Well, let me provide you with a little clarity. When you retire you will be working a second job just to make ends meet. Oh, I also hope you will have benefits as a part time worker ? I hope you are prepared for that, and please don't have children in school because St. Rita, Brother Rice and Mt. Carmel will be out of the question on your budget.

A very simple solution sign a petition with someone that will understand your pain, troubles and financial problems. Someone that does your type of work and has you and your families interests in mind.

There is now only 1 location where you can sign the petition for Christopher Ware, qualifying him to be on the ballot for February 24, 2015 mayoral election. 12,500 signatures are need before 22 Nov 2014 at 5pm, to change the face of Chicago politics, and it starts with you. If you believe in safer streets for your children to play on, better schools for your children to attend, better job opportunities and more money in your pocket. Sign up within the next 48 hrs. One signature and your vote will change the way things get done.

I smell bullshit. We as police are exempt per. The vehicle code.

11/20/2014 01:25:00 AM

Ummmm...no. If someone gets injured and you were with lights and sirens and en route to a call, they'll probably still get some money. If someone is injured and you weren't headed to an assigned job with emergency lights on and still blew lights and traffic control devices...good luck on that exemption you believe in.

Thank you. That is part of the problem with most of the officers; they cannot carry the analysis two steps forward. Another problem is that they cannot read. This department is staffed by the best and the brightest.

You guys make me laugh. Citing IVC, calling FOP, citing this and that. You people really think the administration gives two fucks about IVC and you running a ligh.
You WILL see deductions on your check !! Good thing, you can write off on your income tax.
Let's not forget the other sticket for speeding in a school zone, YES, you will see it on you pay cheack.
The payroll division will deduct monies from two people if your riding a two man unit.
AA sheets and your car number is shown and you and your partner cwill be double hit.
Forgot, FOP will grieve it and the city will have your money already. After two years, you will still be waiting to get your money back.
The Lt on the watch told him they would ne non suited. Same thing happened to a guy in 018 during summer, 5 parkers in a meter zone, Lt. said they were non suited. Come Nov 15 payroll check, There goes 75.00, plus late fee' a pop for each off his payroll check.
FOP is on it , LOL. The copper already retired and had to eat the fine. FOP told him, they cannot help him, he is retired.

Although I disagree with one point, this guy has half a brain. Cite all the stuff that you want. The city can hit you with the penalties and then it is up to you to fight the fines.

If a commanding officer tells you to not worry about something because it will be "taken care of," then that means "go away-I do not want to deal with you." Nothing will be done for you. You will realize this when it is pretty much too late.

All you hard chargers should pay attention to people with real world experience.

If this can be verified from a video, a report or memo etc., and not based off rumor or hearsay every complaint of response time should be answered by a simple answer that the Chicago Mayor has ruled or required that traffic laws be adhered to at all times and that requires us to slow our response to their call.

I tried calling 311 on my yuppie jagoff neighbor beacuse he left his car parked in front of my house for a month. Dumbshit dispatcher transferred me to 911. I spent more time apologizing to call taker for 311's idiocy than explaining the problem. Worthless fucks.

Uh oh, sucks to be held responsible for your actions, doesn't it? Thanks cops for standing between us citizens and danger, but if you're not on a call, why don't you stop like the rest of us? You'll cover less ground, but maybe you'll stop a purse snatching or a knock-out you would have missed if you were rolling. Hmm?

This blog will het the shit fan when the 01 December payroll hits. First batch of copper' in the number of around 77 from all units and districts. Late water bills, even if you only rent and show the address as your home you will be paying the water bill plus late fee' and interest for the owner. If the land lord owes $1,100.00, bam, you will get the deduction. Ask your landlord if he has been paying up ! This is the benifit of being a city employee were they can cross reference you address and name to building owners who fail to pay.
This will be going on for many pay periods, the city does not want to hit eveyone at once. Great business tactic.
Then the parkers will start 01 Jan, this will be the big push, anyone at you address with same surname, you will pay for it., no matter if you never seen the vehicle of kin.
The on duty violations is already blooming fast. Parkers and red light, pseeding cameras will also bite you.
No problem, FoP will grieve it while the city has you grocery money. Two years from now, FoP will get half your money back, it will be like a retro check.
The payroll dept is already geared up when you call , beef and cuss them out. CR' will be norm.
The calls will be taped just like calling customer service, quality assurance issue!
The people with desk jobs will not have to fret, they never see the inside of a squad anyway.

Well that DOES explain a lot and stop trying to muddy the water, slick... You ask for someone to show you something in 720 ILCS that pertains to 625 ILCS.

Yeah...
You teach vehicle code at the academy...

And for clarity...
The discussion should be about exceptions not exemptions.

Right?

Your straw-man just slapped the shit out of you.

Exemption is used to refer to when a person is free from an obligation or liability. That is why you are not an instructor with an advanced degree retard. Learn a few words, read a book, and invest in yourself. Thank you for playing inbred.
