Welcome to Chicago

  • Green Bay Police are waiting for more information from Chicago Police, about a Green Bay officer who was robbed while in Chicago.

Lt. Paral, a Shift Commander with Green Bay Police, confirm the robbery happened in the uptown neighborhood of Chicago, when the officer’s car was broken into.

Paral said the officer’s badge and gun were stolen from the car.

Police say they're waiting to get the official report from the Chicago Police Department.
Burglary-to-Auto actually, downgraded to Theft via CompStat. Garry is trying to figure out how to blame this on Concealed Carry as we speak.

The case report would be Theft /from MV over 300 The charge would hopefully be Burglary if they are caught.

It's only Burglary for charging if arrested, otherwise theft from vehicle, the proper classification.

Robbed? Stuff was taken from his car. Why bring a badge and gun if you're going to leave it in the car?

What's with a coppers leaving badges/guns in vehicles? We read or hear about this more offen than we should. With HR218 carry your pistol for your and yours safety only at least. Not saying it was the officers fault....but come on. The pistol maybe if out drinking but the Button with ID? If your that ashamed of being the police then go be a fireman.

It's not a burglary, it's reported as a theft. Always has been under UCR. If you get a head, charge with burglary.

Let's revisit the woman who left her FBI badge and ids
and loaded 9mm in her purse, under her chair at the Hilton bar so she could get up and dance away. It was some time ago, but CPD recovered all the stuff so that the first female agent in charge of the Chicago office wouldn't be too embarrassed.

Oh boy no wonder why the nut job of a tact Lt in 019 has the Sgts. at roll call try to make us down grade all of the burglary and robbery reports to thefts. The 019 district has twice as many robberies, burglaries that are reported but are doing a hell of a job of cooking the books. The new burglary team is doing a good job taking a few alarm jobs from the watch but most of the time never answer up to the radio when called. Maybe if they had better supervision things would be different.Lets see how many more bid out this period, and by the way you can bet your paycheck that when an offender is in custody a theft turns into a robbery. Things are sure backwards over here

Hate to shine light on this but the Area receives 2 or 3 of these a month from officers, sheriffs, and retirees.

Cops are far from being perfect.
Most are stolen by family members.

It's burglary! More evidence of under-reporting incidents properly.

Per FBI standards, it's a Theft from Motor Vehicle Classification on the case report. The charge is Burglary.
